Just a couple of quick reminders for DragonCon this upcoming weekend! We are *VERY* excited to be running our first ever DragonCon LARP event!
1) Character Sheets: Due to the recent changeover in Logistics handling, we are having some technical issues with printing Character Sheets. Please bear with us. We will do everything in our power to have your current sheets printed and accurate, but if there are mistakes PLEASE bring them to our attention immediately. We will handwrite them in for the Con event. If you have corrections after the event, please turn them back in at Checkout so that we can get them printed correctly for October.
As such, if you are planning to attend *** PLEASE RSVP *** even if it's a Maybe. If you do not RSVP we will NOT have your Character Sheet pre-printed on site. We will not have access to a printer on site, so if we do not have it pre-printed and you have not notified us to expect you, we will have to hand-write your Character Sheet for one event.
2) New Characters: If you intend to bring in a new PC for the DragonCon Event, your character stats are due by midnight tonight if you want them approved and pre-printed in time for the event. If they are not turned in by midnight on Wednesday, you will not be permitted to play the character at the DragonCon event. We will NOT be creating characters on site at the Convention as there will be pre-generated characters available that can be altered or tweaked if necessary. Any new players will be given a pre-generated character the same as anyone else who signs up at Con.
3) IBGA's and Downtimes: Please remember, your IBGA's and Downtimes from the August event are due TONIGHT BY MIDNIGHT. If you are coming to the DragonCon event, we will make every effort to ensure that you have your responses available on site Saturday, but again, please make sure you RSVP. Anyone who has not RSVP'ed by midnight tonight will NOT have their downtimes printed or available for the DragonCon event. We will only be issuing responses for those current players who have said Yes or Maybe.
4) Please remember that DragonCon is a NON-COMBAT event. If you wish to bring your in-play weapons, the Troll Queen's Guards will ask you to kindly leave them in a designated "safe" area within the room or to have them peacebonded for the duration of the event. If you do choose to bring them for flavor or costuming purposes that is fine, but anyone caught using them for combat, even out of play, will result in at least a formal Sportsmanship Warning, and the weapon(s) used will be confiscated by staff and taken to an out-of-play location until the event is concluded. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are in violation of the Convention or Hotel policies. The only exception to this policy is pre-approved scripted and choreographed demos or "flavor" sequences that have been cleared in advance and pre-arranged by staff with the LARP track Director and/or hotel security. Generally Dagohir are the only ones permitted to engage in a combat scenario and then only under very specific guidelines and circumstances in a pre-selected area at a set time. There is to be absolutely NO open combat WHATSOEVER on hotel grounds.
5) Anyone attending the DragonCon event will get a 10 exp blanket and normal Downtime Actions / IBGA's after the event. Those who do not attend will have the opportunity to purchase down/missed month EXP and IBGA's with your Kickits (max of 3 each per down/missed month).
6) Volunteer Shift Table Coverage Hours: We are offering 5 Kickits per 2 hour table coverage shift. Please let us know if you plan to help cover the table. We will have a sign-up sheet as well as a sign-in sheet at the table. If you do not sign in AND sign out you will not be credited for your Kickits. Please remember to stop by the table or notify us of your availability in advance. We can only fit a max of 3 to 4 chairs/people behind the table. As a rule, we cannot have people standing behind the chairs or sitting in front of the table for long periods of time due to traffic flow and space issues. Thus, the volunteer coverage will be available on a first come first serve basis unless you have signed up for a specific time slot in advance.
7) Table Coverage needed for Game Time: If you know of anyone that would be willing to man our table during our event block, please have them contact us ASAP. Remember that our Kickits awarded will be transferable to other games due to our NPC exchange, specifically Forrest of Doors and/or Fractured. We need to have at least one person at the table during our event block while we are running the game.
