{You receive a hand addressed formal invitation in a sealed envelope. The seal is of grey wax with silver metallic flecks, and the seal image forms a hammer with two crossed rail spikes. The envelope is addressed to you, though the letter contained within is a generic, preprinted form letter, run on a state of the art printing press. The paper is a cream colored parchment of fine quality. The letter is hand signed in unnaturally black ink.}
Dear Sir or Madam,
It has come to my attention that you have earned quite the reputation in your given field of expertise. I am currently recruiting potential partners and investors, and researching worthwhile investments for several upcoming business ventures that may be of mutual interest to us. I have invited the “Heroes of Skyfall” as well as dignitaries from all corners of Amari’z to discuss these matters in a more private setting.
Therefore, you are cordially invited to a High Stakes ‘Amari’z Hold-em’ Poker Tournament at the Regional Headquarters of my company, Steel Rail and Carriage, in New Winthrop, Amari’z, to be held this Saturday, February the 27th, 1715 at 8:00pm sharp. I would be most interested to meet you in person, because I firmly believe that we can help each other in our future endeavors. The Wayfarer’s Guild has been contracted to transport participants to and from the tournament site as needed.
Buy-In Cost for the tournament is the promise of one Favor, Named or Unnamed, Promiser’s choice. Named Favors must be publicly announced, shall be laid out in Contract Form before play begins, and must be agreed upon by All Parties in advance. Unnamed Favors may be called in immediately, or at a future time, as needed, Winner’s choice. Unnamed Favors shall be negotiated on site between the Winner and the Promiser. All Favors shall be legally binding, and shall be drafted on site in contract form, however, for Unnamed Floating Favors, stipulations may be placed as each party sees fit (ie: I won’t kill anyone, I won’t betray national secrets, etc). Each party may place up to 3 such stipulations into the final contracts as they wish.
Winner takes all, which, as you all know, should create a very interesting and valuable “Pot” indeed. Each party entering the tournament will sign a legally binding IOU upon signing the Tournament register. The Tournament Winner shall receive notarized copies of all Contracts received, and the Master Copies shall be placed on file with a representative of the Patrician’s Guild, who will be on site to oversee the legality of said contest and prize awards.
I sincerely hope to meet each and every one of you in person. Should you decide to attend, simply contact any Wayfarer, and they shall provide you Safe Passage to and from the tournament. There is no need to RSVP. Anyone not seated at the table at 8:00pm sharp shall be disqualified from participation and may only attend as an Observer. Each invited party may bring ONE guest to accompany them. Please feel free to attend in an observational capacity only if you do not wish to participate in the tournament itself. Everyone benefits from making new acquaintances.
